Walter W.  Keifer
  
A dedicated and hard working servant of the Lord, Walter W. Kiefer, 92, of Elkhart, died at 8:30p.m. Tuesday, January 12th, at Valley View Health Care
Center.
He was born March 15, 1917 in Nappanee to Leonard O. and Bertha (Holderman) Kiefer. He married Betty Loueen(Graime) Dec. 24th, 1937. She died June 1980. Walter married Janet Cook on Oct. 15th, 1982. She survives with 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 25 great grand children
Mr. Kiefer is survived by his son, Marvin Kiefer of Alto, NM &
(3grandchildren), a daughter Bonnie Ritchie(Kenneth) of Floral, Florida & (2 grandchildren); 7 Great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Mr. Kiefer is also survived by one sister, Virginia Klem.
One sister and four brothers preceded him in death, Mildred, LaMar, Maynard, Manford, and Lowell.
Mr. Kiefer worked in the foundries for 30 years. He became a journeyman molder and earned a degree from Elkhart Business College. He owned a foundry, Columbian Casting Co. for 3 years.
Walter served in WWII and was honorably discharged May 28th, 1949 as Sergeant in Infantry. He was decorated with the American Theater Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal, & Good Conduct Medal.
Walter also worked until age 81, 10 years at Selmer Instrument Co., and drove for G.L.Perry 6 years, & MDK 10 years.
Mr. Kiefer enjoyed reading his bible daily and remembers accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savoir when he was baptized at the Pleasant Valley of the Brethren, Middlebury, Ind. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He is presently a member of St. John's UCC.

Services will be held 12 noon on Saturday at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Friends and family may call from 10am to 12 noon.
