Patricia Joy Smith 85 of Elkhart, Indiana passed away at Elkhart General Hospital on Monday July 19, 2010. She resided at Valley View Nursing Home in Elkhart. She went ot Heaven to join her husband Charles H. Smith who preceded her in death April 1, 2008. She married Charles, her soul mate, April 5, 1948. They spent 60 wonderful years together here and now they join again for an eternal reunion. She was a wonderful unassuming Christian woman of character and intergrity who adorned herself inward with God's graces. She was a devoted, kind, compassionate and loving wife, mother and grandmother. All who knew Patsy would tell you of her gentle loving spirit. She was always kind to all she met. She cherished her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, music and she loved to dance and was a very good dancer. She learned ballroom dancing at a early age. She was a college graduate earning a degree in Home Economics but never became a full time teacher. Instead, she married and became a full time homemaker. She exemplified the good unselfish wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She lived a long and good life. There is another beautiful flower in God's garden, another shining star in God's Heaven. She leaves behind her children Michael and Kathy Smith, John and Norene SMith, Jeff and Sherri Smith, grandchildren and great grandchildren Sara and Andy Chrobot, Krissy and Jared Myers, Krista and Jordan Kerns, Nicole and Michael Vidmar, Josh Varab, Katie and Kyle Chrobot, Niley Vidmar. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association. Private family services will take place at a later date in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
